Hollywood will soon have some explaining to do. The public is catching on now to what Scientology actually is, not what Scientology WANTED the public to think it is. Most people had thought it was some sort of scientifically based philosophy of some sort, some chic, mysterious religion for Hollywood types. But lately (and with most grateful thanks to South Park) people’s jaws have been dropping to the floor trying to comprehend just how nutty, stunningly bizarre, even dangerous this totalitarian sci-fi cult actually is.
But Hollywood has been eating this batshit cult up for 30 years. These batshit idiots by the truckload have signed the Scientology “billion year spiritual contract.” And now the public is catching on to just how batshit they are. What will they do? Where will they run? Even their batshit profit L. Ron won’t be able to save them now.

But you're right. It's happening slowly, but people are finding out what this dangerous organization is really about. Between the internet and (hopefully) Parker and Stone paving the way for more people to be outspoken without being afraid, it'll be the end of them.
Xenu willing.

Thanks Emily
For your post, just put this blog up and am having a lot of fun with it.So I’m hoping ridicule of Scientology will be the ticket. What the heck’s the use of gigantic theological papers on Scientology etc. etc. It doesn’t even contain any real theology and what it does contain is just far too stupid to even merit critical analysis. What it won’t survive is becoming one big joke, which it is deservingly on it’s way to.
Humor can kill any attempt to be serious and if it’s one thing Scientology wants the most is to be taken seriously. Humor can even kill ANTI Scientology.
I’ll give you an example – the other day I did an anti-Scientology rant on Craigslist.org. I even attached photos (one of L. Ron trying out an early version of an e-meter on a tomato and another of John Travolta using an e-meter) and I made my points brilliantly (I thought).
And so I wanted to say “Scientology is pure Hubbard brain diarrhea, nothing more, pure brain diarrhea!!!” But of course I’m always typing letter combinations backward etc. and would be dead in the water without the spell-checker – but am really screwed when the misspelling is actually a real word. So of course I typed “It’s pure brian diarrhea, nothing more just brian diarrhea!" And the only response I got back was “Who is Brian, and why do you know so much about his diarrhea?”
And at that point, there was nothing left I could say.

Re: Thanks Emily
Ridiculing may not be the ticket. The Clams have managed to turn it all around into a "religious persecution" issue. I think critics of the "church" are best left noting their obscene abuses. I think you do, too.Anonymous

Re: Thanks Emily
Yes I have seen you out there, and have enjoyed reading your stuff. In essence I do agree with what you said, and also Dan who jumped in recently.I think since Scientology is deadly, there will always be a major element of anti-Scientology that MUST be deadly serious. But Scientology is simultaneously so farcical that there will always be an element of ant-Scientology that is satirical in nature.
It’s not like certain other things that have no farcical elements to them. For instance nobody will ever be able to make, in good taste, a comedy or light-hearted musical about the Holocaust. But Scientology is just such sheer buffoonery that it will always beg some type of satirization. Body Thetans that stick to people like some sort of spiritual lice will always strike someone’s funny bone. In fact it is one of the most delicious ironies of my lifetime that Scientology wasn’t dealt it’s first mainstream body blow by a cartoon. What can be more fitting to take on the world biggest cartoon of a religion than one of the world’s biggest cartoons?
But at the end of the day Scientology is still a deadly and criminal organization. And that we won’t be able to laugh away.

Re: Thanks Emily
(^_^) That's pretty good, "brain diarrhea". I wanted to stop in and say thanks for visiting my page and leaving that response. Good to know other people are letting lose about this train wreck as well.To jump in on the topic here, I do think comedy is a potent tool, but I have to agree with Emily here a little. We certainly don't want to create an underdog for the foolish to rally behind. I think the SP episode did a great thing in lighting that match to a large audiance, but in the end it will take people simply not recoiling in fear from the Co$. We need to get it out objectively (for the most part) so their is no defense available and so those watching don't feel the need to take sides. I know that my post was less than kind towards the topic so I can't claim such a perfect neutrality either.
On the other hand some people only pay attention when their is a big scene or martyr to look at. So then, a sense of balance would be the key I suppose. Anyway, keep on spreading the word about it man. People need to know. ;)
